尽管从小就失去了母亲的呵护和关爱，但汤姆（路易斯·霍夫曼 Louis Hofmann 饰）还是长大成为了一个活泼伶俐的男孩。调皮的他无心上学 ，经常偷偷溜出学校，惹出一连串的麻烦。哈克贝利（莱昂·塞德尔 Leon Seidel 饰）是汤姆的朋友 ，一次偶然中 ，两人溜进墓地玩耍，却意外的目睹了一桩杀人事件。 害怕遭到凶手的报复，汤姆和哈克贝利决定踏上逃亡的旅途，一行人来到了一座荒岛之上，在此开始了惬意的生活。汤姆的家人以为汤姆已死 ，没想到他却在自己的葬礼上跳了出来 ，吓了大家一跳 ，之后汤姆道出了事情的原委 ，使得凶手最终被绳之以法 。之后，汤姆和贝姬（Magali Greif 饰）在山洞里迷了路 ，却因祸得福的找到了宝藏。
