一桩趣闻打破了南方古朴小镇的宁静，油坊老板陈万喜（郭铁成 饰）拎着从北京带回来的“福娃”求小学校长同意自己回学校上学 。陈万喜去北京计划玩十天，可是也不知什么原因，三天后他便急勿勿的赶回来了。更让人不可理解的是他居然要回小学去读书，跟自己的儿子陈荣（庄景熙 饰）做同班同学 ，而且居然俩人还成了同桌 。 陈万喜的行为在村子里引起很大反响 ，其实别人的话他都无所谓，可是陈万喜的行为却遭到自己宝贝儿子的极力反对，而且自家的油坊也实在忙不过来 ，陈万喜能否继续自己的求学之路？
